Pelloby operate on an international scale and regularly ship both standard and bespoke lifting products to companies based all over the world. However, our cranes are best known here in the UK and we always enjoy working with businesses closer to home.
Here we take a look at a series of small portable cranes and overhead travelling systems we have provided for local Shropshire business LVS Small Plastic Parts who are based less than ten minutes’ drive from our own factory.
Small Plastic Parts
Formed in 1975, Small Plastic Parts have become a leader in plastic injection moulding providing thermoplastic and silicone solutions for many different applications. Working with companies based in a range of sectors, their various products are used across Europe and as a result their manufacturing processes operate around the clock.
Offering such a diverse range of components often means production runs that vary considerably in volume which presents significant operational challenges. Preparing their moulding machinery for these production runs is where Pelloby cranes enter the picture.
Small Portable Cranes
Pelloby have supplied several cranes to Small Plastic Parts over recent years that are used to transfer different moulding equipment in and out of these machines when required.
These include five and six tonne overhead models installed side by side, each designed to straddle an individual moulding machine. A further top running overhead crane with a two tonne capacity which spans the entire width of a major production room has also been erected within the Small Plastic Parts site.
A series of small mobile cranes (also known as A-frame gantry cranes) have been supplied to give direct access to other pieces of machinery. These small portable cranes provide the key advantage of being able to be wheeled in and out of position as required – meaning they can serve multiple stations and give a greater degree flexibility to the team at Small Plastic Parts.
