Members of Pelloby’s crane service team recently travelled to Kuwait to carry out routine preventative maintenance work on two of our more innovative handling systems – a pair of 100 tonne floor transporters.
These transporters were manufactured at our Telford factory to a completely bespoke design for use alongside a portal crane, in order to help with a requirement for lifting and moving large transformers.
Take a look at this quick video of the system being tested for use in our factory prior to being delivered to the client’s site.
These robust transporters have been designed not only to support extremely heavy duty loads but also to traverse the transformers between various workstations within a production environment. To allow for this each unit was fitted with 16 specially manufactured rubber wheels capable of manoeuvring the transformer under load across semi smooth floors and slopes.

A radio controlled HMI interface is used to operate each transformer and anti-collision technology was also incorporated into the system for added safety. This means each transformer automatically stops moving once sensors indicate it’s approaching another object.
Some of our CSCS accredited engineers recently visited our client’s site in Kuwait in order to carry out routine maintenance work to ensure the ongoing safe usage and elongated lifespan of the system.
