Knuckle jib cranes have special articulated arms which allow them to reach around objects making them ideal for certain lifting applications traditional jibs can’t manage.
Knuckle jib cranes offer access to areas that are otherwise restricted to regular jibs. Pelloby are the leading manufacturer of post and wall mounted knuckle jibs.
The beam of a knuckle jib crane is divided into two sections, with the ‘forearm’ providing additional movement allowing the system to reach more awkward or obscure spaces.
Typically utilised for more intricate and light duty applications, a Pelloby knuckle jib crane can be designed to suit all sorts of lifting requirements in various sectors.
A leading UK knuckle jib crane manufacturer
Knuckle jib cranes typically support safe working load capacities of up to one tonne, operating with an approximate three metre maximum radius. The maximum slewing angle of the first part of the beam of a knuckle jib tends to be 270 degrees, however if required we can design in optional slewing stops to lessen this.
Motorised slewing operation isn’t available on standard knuckle jib cranes, but in most cases manual slewing is sufficient to move the relatively lighter loads handled by these systems. Hand, electric or air hoisting options are available and Pelloby can provide full electrics and wiring as required.
In terms of floor and wall mounting options, our post knuckle jib cranes can be fixed with resin anchor bolts or foundation bolts as required, while our wall knuckle jib cranes use either face fixing or wrap-around bolts.
Knuckle jib crane extras
As with all Pelloby designed jibs, our knuckle jib cranes can be customised to suit the task in hand via a series of optional accessories. For example, a parking lock can be attached to the inner half of the arm in order to keep it securely in place while not in use.
When it comes to aesthetics, our knuckle jib cranes can be painted any colour with galvanising and stainless steel options also available for protection against rusting in outdoor environments.
Having been a market leader in crane design and manufacturing for over forty years, Pelloby have experience in finding knuckle jib crane solutions for various workplaces across multiple sectors.
Knuckle jibs are also often referred to as articulated jib cranes.
